Objectives

FEMI Foundation creates opportunities for people of all ages to achieve a more dignified quality of life, while promoting the preservation of local ecosystems. Its work is inspired by mutual respect and equality, fostering active involvement, creativity, collaboration, and connection. At the heart of FEMI’s approach is the belief that children are the most important target group. The foundation takes an integrated approach to sustainable development, focusing on education, health, food security, income generation, and infrastructure. Central to this approach is local ownership, ensuring that communities themselves drive both the process and the outcomes. FEMI’s mission can be translated into three core objectives: To improve people’s quality of life in a sustainable and holistic way To support individuals and communities in becoming self-reliant To facilitate networks and create meaningful connections These objectives guide the selection of projects and partnerships that contribute to achieving FEMI’s mission. FEMI focuses on six countries: Kenya, Nepal, Uganda, Bolivia, Tanzania, and the Netherlands. Within these countries, FEMI works with both grant funding (through FEMI) and loan funding (through Zero-Kap).
