About the organization

Het doel van de Stichting Han Gerlach Studiefonds is het ondersteunen van getalenteerde jonge mensen, waarvan zij of hun ouders niet financieel in staat zijn om de kosten van hun studie te dragen. Met behulp van beurzen stelt het fonds hen in staat om hun studie te beginnen, voort te zetten en af te ronden. De voorkeur gaat uit naar theologische studies aan de Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, maar andere studies kunnen ook in aanmerking komen. Daarnaast draagt het fonds bij aan de financiering van opleiding, vorming en toerusting van predikanten en kerkelijk werkers in Nederland, Oost-Europa en Afrika. Hiermee worden ook andere instanties gesteund die bijdragen aan deze doelen. Ondanks de uitbreiding van de activiteiten van het fonds blijft de verbinding met Koudekerke behouden. De predikant van de Protestantse Gemeente Koudekerke is automatisch lid van het bestuur van de Stichting Han Gerlach Studiefonds.
