About the organization

Het fonds heeft als doel het bevorderen van de kwaliteit en diversiteit van de Nederlands- en Friestalige letteren en literatuur uit andere taalgebieden. Ze financieren vertalingen van hoogwaardige oorspronkelijk Nederlandse en Friese literaire werken naar andere talen, evenals de verspreiding van deze vertalingen over de hele wereld. Daarnaast ondersteunen ze ook de productie van hoogwaardige geïllustreerde kinderboeken, waarbij buitenlandse uitgevers financiële steun kunnen aanvragen om een deel van de productiekosten te dekken. Het fonds verstrekt ook subsidies voor vertaalkosten als de vertaler is goedgekeurd door de stichting.
