About the organization

Het Pieter Vijn Fonds heeft als doel het opzetten en onderhouden van een maritieme bibliotheek, inclusief een maritieme demonstratieruimte. Daarnaast ondersteunt de stichting educatieve maritieme onderwijsprojecten in brede zin, met name gericht op het zeevaartonderwijs in Zeeland. Het bestuur van de stichting besluit welke aanvragen worden gehonoreerd en tot welk bedrag, evenals over aanschaffingen, binnen de jaarlijkse begroting. Het fonds opereert zonder winstoogmerk en is erkend als een Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI).
