Het doel van de Stichting Samenwerking tot nut van het Algemeen (SSN) is het bevorderen van culturele, sociale, educatieve, charitatieve en ideële activiteiten, evenals activiteiten op het gebied van sport, binnen het werkgebied van de vroegere Nutsspaarbank. Daarnaast verstrekt de stichting ook uitkeringen met een ideële of sociale strekking. Het doel van de stichting is dus om verschillende soorten goede doelen en activiteiten te ondersteunen, zoals culturele evenementen, sociale projecten, educatieve initiatieven, liefdadigheidsinstellingen en ideële organisaties. Het werk van de stichting wordt ondersteund door promotionele activiteiten ten behoeve van de naamsbekendheid en het imago van de SNS Bank.
