About the organization

De Van Groenendael-Krijger Stichting heeft als doel het prepareren, rangschikken, bewerken en in stand houden van de Indo-Australische Lepidoptera verzameling van de heer J.M.A. van Groenendael. Daarnaast wil de stichting de bestudering van de indo-australische Lepidoptera bevorderen, waarbij de verzameling als belangrijk studiemateriaal dient. Op dit moment richt de stichting zich voornamelijk op het volgen en subsidiëren van de ontsluiting voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek en de invoeging van de Van Groenendael-Krijger collectie in de collectie van Naturalis. Zodra deze werkzaamheden zijn voltooid, zullen de gelden van de stichting worden besteed aan de bevordering van de entomologische wetenschap in Nederland in de meest algemene zin. De stichting financiert dus met name initiatieven en onderzoek gericht op de entomologische wetenschap in Nederland, met specifieke aandacht voor de Indo-Australische Lepidoptera.
