De Stichting Verzameling van Wijngaarden-Boot stimuleert de culturele uitstraling van de stad Rotterdam door subsidiëring en cofinanciering van culturele projecten en uitvoeringen. Projecten moeten binnen de gemeente Rotterdam plaatsvinden en hebben bij voorkeur een uitstraling buiten de gemeentegrenzen.

About the organization

De Stichting Verzameling van Wijngaarden-Boot is in 1931 opgericht door mr. Van Wijngaarden, notaris te Rotterdam, en zijn vrouw. Het echtpaar is kinderloos gebleven en na hun overlijden is de erfenis gebruikt om een museum in hun woonhuis te onderhouden. In de meidagen van 1940 werd het museum verwoest. Sinds 1984 worden de inkomsten uit het kapitaal van de stichting aangewend voor het vergroten en stimuleren van het kunst- en culturele leven in de gemeente Rotterdam.
