About the organization

De Stichting Zonnewende verleent financiële steun voor de vakantie en recreatie van kinderen met een lichamelijke of geestelijke beperking. Ze maken al ruim 50 jaar vakanties in Nederland voor deze groep mogelijk, tot 18 jaar. Ouders en gezinsleden kunnen mee genieten van de vakantie. Of het nu gaat om een weekje in een bungalowpark of dagjes uit naar een pretpark, de stichting maakt het mogelijk. Om de twee jaar kunnen ouders of instellingen bij de stichting een financiële bijdrage vragen voor een vakantie of dagjes uit. De bijdrage wordt bepaald op basis van het inkomen van de ouders. Zonnewende is een vermogensfonds dat jaarlijks vele vakanties of dagjes weg mogelijk maakt. Ze hebben een gastenboek op hun website waar aanvragers worden uitgenodigd om hun vakantie-ervaringen te delen.
