This project is intended to start mid-September 2026, with a duration of 4 weeks. 

Project Summary

Women Ready for Work – Level 1: Digital Confidence & AI Essentials is an eight-week capacity-building programme designed to equip women with the confidence, digital literacy, and artificial intelligence (AI) skills required to participate effectively in today's workforce.

As workplaces increasingly rely on digital technologies and AI-powered tools, many women, particularly those returning to employment, changing careers, starting businesses, or experiencing digital exclusion, lack opportunities to develop these essential competencies.

Through practical, hands-on learning, participants will build confidence, strengthen their digital capabilities, and learn how to use AI responsibly to improve productivity, communication, and everyday professional tasks.

The programme combines personal development with practical digital skills, ensuring participants leave not only with technical knowledge but also with greater confidence in applying those skills in employment, education, entrepreneurship, and daily life.

The expected project date of completion is end October

Rotterdam

Stichting Anova International is actively engaging with employment agencies, employers, and other labour market partners to support the Career Preparation & Employer Networking workshop in Module 4. These collaborations will provide participants with practical insights into current labour market opportunities, exposure to potential employers, and valuable networking opportunities that strengthen the transition from training to employment.

Outcome Measurement Framework

How we measure success:
Project outcomes will be measured using a combination of pre- and post-programme assessments, practical assignments, participant portfolios, attendance records, and follow-up evaluations. Participants' progress will be assessed in areas including confidence, digital skills, AI literacy, responsible AI use, and workplace readiness. To evaluate the programme's longer-term impact, participants will also complete a follow-up survey three months after programme completion.

Key Indicators:
Increased participant confidence
Improved digital and AI skills
Demonstrated application of workplace technology
Completion of a personal action plan
Programme completion and certification
Sustained use of digital and AI skills after the programme

By the end of the project, we want to show:
80% of participants complete the programme.
75% report increased digital confidence.
70% demonstrate improved digital skills through practical tasks.
70% can use ChatGPT responsibly for basic workplace tasks.
80% complete a personal action plan.
60% report using at least one new digital or AI skill within 3 months.

One major risk is limited funding. Limited funding will reduce the outreach of the program to those persons facing systematic barriers (low-income, unemployed, or and digitally illiterate.

The project is in its development stage. Supporting material, networking, and research into venues etc, is in progress. Once funding is received, The project will take place in Rotterdam.

Problem Statement:
The labour market is changing rapidly due to digitalisation and the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace. Today, employers expect job seekers to possess essential digital skills and the confidence to use modern technologies effectively

Many women possess valuable knowledge, experience, and professional potential but lack the confidence to use the modern digital technologies required by today's employers. 

At the same time, the rapid emergence of artificial intelligence has created additional uncertainty for those seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce. 

Existing training opportunities often focus exclusively on technical software skills while overlooking the importance of confidence, digital inclusion, and the practical application of AI tools in everyday administrative and workplace tasks.

Project goal: 
To improve the digital confidence, digital literacy, and AI competency of women, enabling them to participate more confidently in employment, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and community life.

Project objectives:
1. Increase confidence in using digital technologies for everyday professional tasks.
2. Develop practical Microsoft Office skills required in modern workplaces.
3. Learn to use artificial intelligence tools safely, responsibly, and effectively.
4. Improve confidence in communicating digitally.
5. Reduce barriers to digital participation.
6. Increase participants' readiness for employment, further education, or entrepreneurship.

Expected outcome:
Theme 1: Outcome: A Personal Development & Career Action Plan.

Theme 2: Outcome: A Professional Digital Portfolio containing a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation, Outlook calendar exercise, and organized digital files.

Theme 3: Outcome: An AI Productivity Toolkit, where participants demonstrate how to use AI to write an email, create a presentation outline, brainstorm ideas, and automate a simple workflow.

Theme 4: Outcome: By the end of this theme, participants will have a tailored CV, an updated professional profile, improved job application skills, and increased confidence to pursue employment opportunities while expanding their professional network.
