SHIELD is an early-stage non-profit organization locally rooted, and positioned as a catalyst for systemic transformations in health, social inclusion, environment, and leadership to promote sustainable, equitable and inclusive development. 

Mimpô is a small-scale health and water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) project implemented in rural Cameroon. It aims to conduct a large-scale rural well water disinfection campaign using chlorine to combat the proliferation of pathogens and prevent numerous diseases (skin infections, digestive problems, sexually transmitted infections, etc.) linked to the daily consumption of contaminated water, particularly among women and children. This project also aims to educate rural communities about the dangers of using untreated water and the benefits of disinfection before use.

Mimpô is an independent and complementary module of our larger-scale health project, Dôbidô.

Mimpô: Rural Well Water Sanitization

CEB is a project to valorize sugar bagasse into ecological charcoal as an alternative to wood charcoal in Cameroon where two sugar factories generate over 45,000 tons of bagasse (fibrous residue from the processing of sugarcane into granulated sugar) each year. This biomass, considered as waste product of the sugar industry, is currently underutilized and neglected, despite its considerable energy potential that could meet local needs for clean, sustainable, and more environmentally friendly fuel. Our project offers a simple solution that addresses several strategic challenges:

•	Transforming an agro-industrial waste product (bagasse) into a sustainable energy resource (eco-friendly charcoal for domestic use);
•	Reducing deforestation for charcoal production by providing an affordable alternative;
•	Reducing dependence on traditional fuels (oil, gas, wood, charcoal);
•	Reduce CO₂ emissions related to waste incineration and deforestation;
•	Create a local income-generating sector for women and young people (populations most affected by unemployment, wood collection, and exposure to toxic fumes in rural and peri-urban areas).

Thanks to its dual approach of direct and indirect mitigation measures, this project creates a circular, sustainable, and replicable model with a strong climate impact, offering communities and industries a practical and affordable alternative to drive systemic change that promotes the preservation of forests, our most effective natural carbon sinks.

Dôbidô project is a community-centered digital health infrastructure powered by AI designed to transform Community Health Workers from passive data collectors into active, decision-enabled frontline health providers, and to improve maternal & infant healthcare in rural areas of Cameroon. Rather than creating another vertical health system, Dôbidô provides a single operational backbone supporting multiple key interventions simultaneously, thanks to its modular conception. This solution strengthens the existing health system from the ground up by operationalizing what already exists on paper and addresses priority challenges identified in the national health policy.

The system contributes to:

•	Safer childbirth and prevention of obstetric complications, including postpartum hemorrhage
•	Prevention of Syphilis & HIV/AIDS and strengthening of PMTCT through systematic monitoring of pregnant and breastfeeding women
•	Improved childhood immunization coverage and reduced dropout rates
•	Strengthened malaria prevention for mothers and children
•	Early detection of preventable childhood disabilities (clubfoot, pediatric cataract)

Dôbidô integrates:

a)		Offline-first digital architecture adapted to low-connectivity environments
b)	AI-assisted clinical decision support aligned with national health guidelines
c)	Automated alerts for maternal follow-up, immunization schedules, and critical care windows
d)	Predictive stock monitoring to reduce medicine shortages
e)	Structured referral pathways linking communities to public health facilities
f)	Real-time health data to support planning and public health decision-making
