Last week was the Social Enterprise World Forum 2023 (SEWF) in Amsterdam, the event for social entrepreneurs and impact organizations. The SEWF brought together more than 1000 impact makers from around the world for two days full of workshops, training, panel sessions, presentations and of course, networking moments. FindNFund was there, and we are happy to share our main takeaways below.
1. Funding remains a crucial point for impactful organizations One of the most important insights is that funding remains a breaking point for virtually all organizations and initiatives. Without financial support, social enterprises cannot achieve their goals. Every initiative, large or small, needs money to start, grow and innovate. It is clear that impact makers prefer to spend their time and energy on developing their ideas and projects rather than constantly searching for financial resources. All the more the importance of platforms like FindNFund, which are committed to making funding more accessible for those who want to bring about positive change.
2. Start-ups as innovation catalysts Another insight we gained is the crucial importance of start-ups in innovating sectors. Young, dynamic companies have the speed and flexibility to develop new ideas, technologies and business models that challenge and change existing sectors. Established names often even actively monitor start-ups and social enterprises to learn from them and make more positive impact with their own business.
3. Networking and collaboration are indispensable Building networks and entering into collaborations are crucial for the growth of organizations. Impact makers benefit enormously from sharing experiences and connecting with other players in the field. It emphasizes all the more the importance of making it easier to bring together fundraisers, investors, social entrepreneurs and other organizations to jointly increase impact.
As a participant in SEWF 2023, we left the event with a good dose of inspiration and motivation. Cool to feel that so many people are already working every day to make the world a little better through social enterprises. It has inspired us and motivated us even more for our mission to make funding more accessible for everyone who is committed to a better world. Doing Good, Done Better.
